Open Meeting A Big Success
Our meeting at The Wenlock Arms (Saturday, 27th September) was a big success and, amongst other things, we discussed including a charitable aspect to our work and made plans for 2004 events (including Covent Garden).

Our next open meeting will be held in January 2004 - details to follow.

St. George's Day Events Meeting Announced
We are holding an open meeting in central London on Sat 27th September at the Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, London, N.1. The nearest Tube Station is Old Street and Wenlock Road itself is not far from the City Road, near to Moorfields Eye Hospital. (click here for map)

We will be meeting in the upstairs from 12 midday, until about 2 p.m. and all are welcome. We will be talking about grants and sponsorship from various organisations to put on an event on in 2005, when St. George`s day falls on a Sunday. We are looking for people to help us organise a cultural/musical event in a public open space, and those with relevant experience, or simply enthusiasm for promoting St. George`s Day would be a valuable asset.

Covent Garden event a huge success
Our launch event at London's Covent Garden Market was a great success. "All Boxed Up (And Ready To Go)", veterans of the Folk festival circuit, were watched by an appreciative crowd as their lively tunes filled the north hall.

Dave Jolly had the crowd up dancing and passers-by, both English and foreign, beamed with delight at the proceedings. The press were also in attendance.

We would like to thank Sue and Anne at Covent Garden and our agent Mary Panton for helping us make everything run smoothly. One thing's for sure, the potential for a larger celebration next year is certainly there!
